The Central Oregon TRACEs (Trauma, Resilience and Adverse Childhood Experiences) partnership invites individuals, organizations and communities to partner in a shared commitment to make our region a place where every individual has the strength, social connections, and community support they need to be resilient and thrive in the face of adversity. Toxic stress and trauma have similar impacts; all of which show up in each of our Central Oregon communities. Together, we will learn:

  1. How toxic stress, adverse experiences and trauma impact those in our community;
  2. Why this matters to education, health, and the workplace; and
  3. How each of us can make it easier for people to thrive in the face of adversity.

We envision a region where every individual has the strengths, social supports and community resources they need to thrive.

We envision a region where leaders, organizations, and communities actively create systems that help build resiliency. A region where strengths are nurtured resulting in high levels of health and well-being and low levels of chronic health conditions; where all children achieve their highest level of education success and graduate on time; and where all adults are financially stable and contributing participants in their community.

Partners commit to a shared agenda. That is, we agree to a shared approach to addressing this challenge. The graphic below is a first draft of how we will work together. Over time, we will learn and adapt together, updating our agenda as we go.

Shared measures are now in action!

  • Why shared measures? Great data inform great decision-making. Using the same measures across the Central Oregon region is a powerful way to understand our impact.
  • Why these measures? A team from OSU-Cascades scanned the literature for measures that explored resilience beyond the individual perspective to include relational, community, and cultural factors. They also looked for something free, short, trustworthy, strengths-based, culturally responsive, and available in multiple languages.
  • How do I get involved? The measures are available today at this link and we’d love to have you contact us to learn how to join the rapidly growing Outcomes & Impact Learning Community.
